The path connects the wine villages of Mülheim, Veldenz, Burgen, Wintrich and Brauneberg in the county of Veldenz and thus bears his name.Insights into the tour:The hiking route starts in Wintrich and runs from there along the Moselle to Brauneberg. From here the trail follows the Moselle railway line to Mülheim. It continues through the brook valley to Veldenz and over forest and meadow paths to Burgen. On the Burgener Flur there are wonderful views of the Moselle valley and the Hunsrück heights. Finally, the tour continues along a forest path to the wine village of Wintrich. Three brook valleys and numerous views are the highlights of the approx. 19 km long circular trail.Refreshment stops can be made in these individual villages, and there are also shops for rucksack provisions. This can then be eaten at various resting places along the route.

Author’s recommendation

The Villa Romana in Veldenz is definitely worth a visit. In the cellar there are large parts of a well preserved bathroom. Today the building serves as a museum and "house of the guest".

Destination

in the middle of the wine villages of Mülheim, Veldenz, Burgen, Wintrich and Brauneberg

Turn-by-turn directions

For example, hike from Wintrich along the Moselle to Brauneberg. Leave Brauneberg via the Nußbaumallee and past the Simultankirche church and continue along the former Moselle railway line to Mülheim. From here the hiking trail leads along a beautiful brook valley to Veldenz, where you can discover traces of the Romans in the Villa Romana.  The hiking trail continues below the wooded mountain slope along a beautiful forest and meadow path to Burgen. Over one of the many Frohnbach valley bridges you leave the village and reach the Burgener Flur with a wonderful view of the Moselle valley and the Hunsrück heights. A forest path leads down into the Brelitz brook valley and up to the Wintricher Höhe. With a view of the Moselle valley, the trail then descends again to the wine village of Wintrich.
